The application deadline is September 7th at 5 PM ET

At the Harvard Law School Program on International Law and Armed Conflict (HLS PILAC), we study contemporary challenges concerning armed conflict through the lens of international law. We seek research assistants to help support our research and policy work during fall 2021 (mid-September through November).

Tracks

Eligible students may apply to one of two tracks. One track is for students who do not have extensive relevant experience with international law but who are nevertheless strongly interested in pursuing this field (the novice track). The other is for students who can demonstrate such knowledge and skills (the experienced track), for example through completed academic coursework, relevant publications, or work as a legal adviser.

Eligibility

Only current HLS 2Ls, 3Ls, LL.M. candidates, and S.J.D. candidates — as well as visiting upper-level students — are eligible to apply. We aim to notify applicants by September 14th whether they have been selected. As in previous years, we anticipate receiving more applications than there are available positions.

Research assistants are remunerated at the HLS hourly RA rate.
