Alejandra Parra-Orlandoni

Alejandra Parra-Orlandoni is currently a third-year law student and is conducting research in support of PILAC’s Commanding Knowledge project. She is interested in public international law, foreign relations, and national security law and policy. While in law school, she has also worked in Department of Defense, Office of General Counsel, International Affairs Division; Department of Justice, Environmental Division; and Arnold & Porter, LLP.
Alejandra earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering in 2005 from the United States Naval Academy and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute Joint Program in 2007. She subsequently served as a Naval Officer, completing two deployments to Fifth Fleet in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, during which she conducted counter-piracy, freedom of navigation, and multilateral cooperation operations. She left active duty in 2011, and traveled to Brazil to do volunteer work and learn Portuguese. She also taught Physics at Rutgers University before coming to Harvard Law School.
