PILAC Research Assistants - Fall 2017
HLS PILAC is pleased to announce a call for applications for Research Assistants from current Harvard Law School students. HLS PILAC is a research program exploring critical challenges through the lens of international law related to armed conflict. The Program combines traditional public international law research with targeted analysis of today’s changing security environments. Over the past two years, for instance, with the assistance of dozens of HLS student research assistants, HLS PILAC has published reports on “Medical Care in Armed Conflict: International Humanitarian Law and State Responses to Terrorism,” ”War-Algorithm Accountability,” and “Indefinite War: Unsettled International Law on the End of Armed Conflict.” HLS PILAC RAs may be asked to contribute to a range of programmatic activities, such as:
- Identifying and evaluating relevant treaty provisions concerning research projects;
- Discerning state practice and opinio juris on a particular topic or theme;
- Drafting bibliographies, research memoranda, and other resources;
- Summarizing and evaluating news in relation to research topics; and
- Obtaining evidence and analytical resources for research products.
Current HLS students are invited to fill out the form below and thereby submit an application. We note that we anticipate receiving more applications than available positions.
