Background

The Harvard Law School Program on International Law and Armed Conflict invites applications from current HLS students to join the Program’s new roster of “on call” research assistants. In the past, PILAC has hired RAs for specific projects or to support particular PILAC faculty. The basic idea of the roster is that PILAC will hire students who will serve as “on call” research assistants for more discrete research and analytical assignments that arise with less notice than for longer-term PILAC projects and for longer-term PILAC faculty research. The “on call” assignments may span a range of research and analytical portfolios concerning contemporary and emerging challenges related to international law pertaining to armed conflict. They may take the form of, for example, (relatively) short legal research assignments; research and editing support for blog posts; annotated bibliographies; etc.

Application procedure

Current HLS students interested in joining the PILAC “On Call” RA Roster should submit the form below. Applications are sought especially from students with relevant coursework and experience, with the capacity to conduct high-level international law research in multiple languages, and with precise writing skills.
