Summary
The East African Community is a regional intergovernmental organization that, among other projects, works on developing strategies to fight against terrorism in the region by ensuring peace, security and stability in regional integration. In 2014, the EAC solidified its efforts to promote counterterrorism measures as an organization and among its member states by adopting a new regional counter-terrorism strategy. The focus of the EAC in this respect will be on protecting regional citizens through prevention and combat of terrorist acts, insurgency, and transnational crime.
Members
The EAC is made up of Burundi, Kenya, and Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The partners of the EAC include the World Bank, European Union, European Investment Bank, African Development Bank, Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, German Agency for Technical Co-operation (GIZ), East African Development Bank, United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), Norwegian Agency for Development (NORAD), Commonwealth Secretariat and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).
