Summary
The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is an association of states. The CIS established its Anti-terrorism Centre (ACT), the main purpose of which is to help coordinate interaction among competent authorities of member states in the struggle against international terrorism and other forms of extremism. The ATC employs a variety of counterterrorism measures across several spheres. It helps develop and draft legislation, coordinate joint counterterrorism actions, conduct trainings, gather and analyze information, and facilitate cooperation. The ATC works with CIS authorities and member states in pursuing these goals.
