Summary

The Forum Regional Security Committee (FRSC) is a sub-forum under the Pacific Islands Forum. The FRSC is a regional leader on political security and governance issues, including terrorism. The FRSC is a vehicle for the discussion, among members, of reports on regional security issues including civil unrest, transnational crimes, and terrorism. FRSC strives to identify and engage in dialogue regarding internal and external security concerns that threaten the safety and stability of the region and its economic development. The FRSC encourages cooperation and coordinated regional law and responses to threats. It also works to identify key priority areas to bolster the capacity of members to respond to these threats.

Members

FRSC members include Australia, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

Associate Members

New Caledonia, French Polynesia, and Tokelau.
