Aizhan Tilenbaeva is an LL.M. candidate at Harvard Law School and a Research Assistant at the Program of International Law and Armed Conflict (HLS PILAC). In this role, Aizhan researches issues of environmental protection in relation to international peace and security.
Aizhan is interested in issues concerning law and technology, human rights, humanitarian law, and international development. Before joining HLS PILAC, Aizhan worked as a Legal Advisor at the Mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Kyrgyzstan for over six years, where she provided legal advice and support to the national authorities in Kyrgyzstan on the domestic implementation of international humanitarian law. As a student at Harvard Law School, Aizhan works with the Cyberlaw Clinic, based at Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, and is a member of Law and International Development Society. She holds a BA in International and Business Law from the American University of Central Asia and an MA in Human Rights from the School of Advanced Study, University of London.
