Arnaaz Ameer is an LL.M. candidate at Harvard Law School. Beginning in the Fall of 2022, she has been a Research Assistant with the Harvard Law School Program on International Law and Armed Conflict, analyzing sanctions and unilateral coercive measures with a focus on issues concerning humanitarian aid and protection of civilians in armed conflict.

Arnaaz is a student attorney at the International Human Rights Clinic at HLS, where she works on projects focusing on nuclear disarmament and the regulation of lethal autonomous weapon systems. Previously, she was a Hans Wilsdorf Scholar at the Geneva Academy, specialising in international humanitarian law, international human rights law, and international criminal law. During her time in Geneva, she was a member of the Editorial Team at the ICRC’s International Review of the Red Cross, editing and reviewing over forty articles. She holds a Master’s in Management Science as a Schwarzman Scholar from Tsinghua University in Beijing, and a dual Bachelor’s in Law and Social Work from the Gujarat National Law University in India. She speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati, and French, as well as elementary Mandarin.
