Elizabeth Carthy is an LL.M. student at Harvard Law School from Dublin, Ireland. She has been a research assistant at PILAC since September 2014, working on the "Medical Assistance in Armed Conflict Project: IHL and State Responses to Terrorism." She is interested in international human rights law, international humanitarian law, refugee and asylum law, and criminal justice. She is also currently working in the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic and spent the winter working in the Tel Aviv University Refugee Rights Clinic.
Elizabeth graduated with a first class honors from her Bachelor of Civil Law with French Law last year, through which she had the opportunity to study international human rights law in both Ireland (University College Dublin) and France (Université Panthéon-Assas). She has spent summers working in the European Court of Justice, Federal Defender Program, and A&L Goodbody (Irish law firm) before coming to Harvard Law School.
