Emma Broches is a first-year J.D. student at Harvard Law School. As a Research Assistant at HLS PILAC, Emma currently supports the project on Self-Defense, States’ Silence, and the Security Council.
At HLS, Emma is also involved with the Harvard International Law Journal and HLS Advocates for Human Rights, where she has analyzed potential charges for war crimes committed in Iraq. Prior to law school, Emma worked in Jordan supporting and training the Syrian White Helmets. She also conducted research on humanitarian aid and conflict-related events in Syria as a Fulbright Fellow, and has worked as a paralegal in employment litigation. Emma has a B.A. in History and Arabic from Amherst College.
