Summary
As a group of the Arabian gulf states, the GCC is focused on promoting and enforcing security within the region. To that end, the GCC facilitates cooperation among its member states on various issues, including counterterrorism efforts. The GCC has implemented a regional security strategy as well as formed a Permanent Anti-Terrorism Committee as a specialized body on the matter.

The members of the GCC are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
