Rules for Wrongdoers
A Lecture by Professor Arthur Ripstein
Date and time
March 14th, 2019 • Lecture from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. • A reception will follow the lecture.
Location
The lecture will take place in Hauser Hall, Room 102. The reception following the lecture will take place in the Caspersen Room in the HLS Library.
In his lecture, Professor Arthur Ripstein of the University of Toronto will argue that the very thing that makes war wrongful — the fact that which side prevails does not depend on who is in the right — also provides the moral standard for evaluating the conduct of war, both the grounds for going to war and the ways in which wars are fought. A reception will follow.
