Yang Liu is an LL.M. student at the Harvard Law School and, as of fall 2017, a Research Assistant at the Harvard Law School Program on International Law and Armed Conflict (HLS PILAC). He supports HLS PILAC’s research concerning medical care in armed conflict, surveying state practice regarding medical ethics.
Prior to Harvard Law School, Yang was a Ph.D. researcher in public international law at the University of Hong Kong and a visiting fellow of the Manchester International Law Center in the United Kingdom. His thesis addresses the state of necessity in the law of state responsibility. Yang also worked as an intern in the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs and the Hague Conference on Private International Law (Asia-Pacific Regional Office).
